On June 4th, 2014, the appointment ceremony of Hubei University's “Chutian Scholars Program” lecturer Pierre Ruterana was held in the afternoon, at the 1107 conference room on the 11th floor of the school of Physics and Electrics Science. Xu Ping, the deputy director of the Personnel Department, presided the ceremony. Vice President Gu Haoshuang issued an offer letter for Mr.Pierre Ruterana. After the ceremony, Professor Pierre Ruterana gave an academic report to the teachers and students of the college.
Professor Pierre Ruterana introduced his team’s composition and research direction in France, and explained the principle of the transmission electron microscopy, imaging system, high-resolution image formation, CS double spherical aberration correction and EDS analysis, based on the research on III/V semiconductor crystals. After the academic report, Professor Pierre Ruterana had a heated discussion on the lecture with the teachers and students.
Professor Pierre Ruterana is a well-known scholar in the field of nitrogen-based three-five semiconductor materials and optoelectronic devices. So far, he has published 338 SCI papers in internationally renowned academic journals such asAppl. Phys. Lett., Phys.Rev.B, J. Appl. Lett.His articles have been cited by SCI for 2649 times. Professor Pierre Ruterana has edited and participated in the publication of 6 books. He has been the chief editor of the international journal special issue for 9 times (3 times forPhysica Status Solidi, 2 times forMaterials Science and Engineering B, 1 time forOptical Materials, 1 time forPhilosophical Magazine, and 2 times forMRS Proceedings).Professor Pierre Ruterana has organized and convened more than 12 international conferences such as the European Materials Research Society(Spring/Autumn), the American Materials Research Society (Spring/Autumn), and the European Electron Microscopy Society. He has also been invited to make reports more than 60 times at the European Materials Society, the American Materials Society, and other international conferences. Professor Pierre Ruterana has hosted 5 EU projects, 3 French National Research Agency (ANR) projects, 4 Normandy projects, 3 French National Scientific Research Centers and foreign research institutes (NHRF, PAS, KOSEF), and 1 cooperated project between French Ministry of Education and Korea KISTEP (Korean Institute for Science, Technology Evaluation and Planning).
